Chennai, Apr 29 (TruthDive): Muruganantham is in 2014 Time 100 list. The list of 100 influential persons chronicled by Time magazine for the year 2014 includes few Indians. They are qualified on the basis of "who most influence our world."
Most of the Indian media have celebrated after finding  the names of Narendra Modi, Arvind Kejriwal, and Arundhati Roy in the 2014 Time 100 list. But, much attention is not given to one person from the southern part of India.
He is Arunachalam Muruganantham, He has been described by Time magazine as "unlikely health crusader", whose unique idea to help his wife led to the invention of a machine that manufactures low-cost sanitary pads.
In 2009, Truthdive published an article about this very important person. We quote from our own article.
A school dropout from Coimbatore, Arunachalam Muruganantham (43) invented a sanitary napkin machine which could produce 1000 pieces of napkins in just eight hours at a cost of Re.1.00 per piece. This machine was priced at Rs.85,000 only. The napkin produced by this machine was not only inexpensive but also environment-friendly and hygienic. This machine has got the potential of marginalising the MNCs who manufacture sanitary napkins and is about to force them to reduce the prices of their products.

In the above article we have quoted Thirukkural ( 1025)
The world will flock around onedevoted to honest social service

We are happy that our wishes have come true. We congratulate Muruganantham for this honour!
Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal can influence India. Arundhati Roy can influence intellectual world. But, Muruganantham  influenced the whole humanity. He is the most useful person of all the Indians listed in 2014 Time 100. He deserves to be celebrated more. Only such recognition can bring more innovation. What is the use of opening thousands of Engineering Colleges when we are not able to invent more like this?

We again quote from our own article,
To Mr. Muruganantham for his idea making a global impact. The achievement of Muruganantham shall be considered less if it is mere an invention, it is great if it is looked at as a social service benefiting millions of poor women around the world.
